North Carolina Zoo Field Trip
Join us for a day at the zoo on October 14, 2026!

Important Details:
North Carolina registered home schools can access the Zoo free of charge through individual reservations. Home schools can call 336.879.7700 Monday – Friday to make reservations. You must make your own reservation to get your free tickets.
Group tickets are available for families without a registered homeschool that would like to attend with our Flex Community. This may include families whose children are too young to register with the state or friends/family who want to join you. You can request to join the group discounted tickets below. Group tickets require a 15 person minimum so the link below is an interest form. No payment is required at this time. Once we have at least 15 persons interested, we will send out invoices. All field trip payments are non-refundable regardless of attendance.
Ticketing prices for groups are:
Adults: $17 per person (normally $20 without group discount)
Seniors (62+), College Students, & Military: $15 per person (normally $18 without group discount)
Children (Ages 3–12): $13 per person (normally $16 without group discount)
Additional ticketing information:
NC EBT (up to total 4 admission withcardholder) $5 per person (must purchase on your own)
Children Under 3: Free admission to the zoo
Schedule:
8:30am: Arrival and ticket/ t-shirt pick-up
9am: Enter Zoo (meet at entrance gate for group photo prior to entering the zoo with your family or small group!)
10am – 12pm: Exploring the Zoo – (We encourage small groups and will help you get connected with another family if you’re coming alone)
12pm: Lunch There are several areas to eat lunch. The zoo allows small coolers or insulated bags, no larger than 24” x 15” x 18”. The zoo also offers a variety of food for purchase at restaurants and concession stands.
1pm – 3pm: Exploring the Zoo (Note: the zoo is open until 5, but many group members will leave by 3 for afternoon activities back home. Families are encouraged to stay as long as they would like.)
Optional Cost:
Flex Community T-Shirt – T-shirts are available for $20 or 2 for $35
Discovery Lab – We are trying to book a discovery mini lab. The cost will be $2 per family. We’re waiting on our zoo representative to determine if we will be able to book this lab. You can indicate your interest in the mini lab on your rsvp form below.
